We can help if...
You’re exhausted from holding it all together
Work, relationships, parenting is all piling up. You’re exhausted and can’t keep pretending everything’s fine.
You’ve been told you’re ‘too much’, ‘too sensitive’, or just don’t fit
You’re not broken. You’ve likely been trying to survive in systems that weren’t built for you.
You think you might be neurodivergent
Whether it’s ADHD, autism, or just wanting clarity, we can explore it together, with curiosity and care.
You’re constantly second-guessing yourself or overthinking everything
It’s exhausting being in your own head all the time. Therapy can help you slow it down and make sense of it.
You’re stuck in patterns that don’t feel like the real you
Snapping at people, avoiding things, numbing out. It’s not who you want to be, and it’s not the full story.
You’re not sure what’s wrong, but something doesn’t feel right
You don’t need a diagnosis to deserve support. If things feel off, that’s reason enough to reach out.
Relationships feel confusing, draining, or too intense
You care deeply but often feel misunderstood. Therapy can help you name what’s happening and find steadier ground.
You’ve experienced trauma or a really tough childhood
Your past still feels like it’s in the room with you. EMDR and attachment-based therapy can help shift it.
You’re trying to parent or partner while still healing yourself
Therapy gives you a space to hold your own story, not just everyone else’s.
You deserve to feel understood.
Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or just not yourself lately, we're here to help you make sense of things in a way that feels safe.

Individual Therapy
One-on-one support that’s shaped around you. We take the time to understand what’s going on and work with you to create a flexible, evidence-based plan that fits your needs, your pace, and your goals.

EMDR
A powerful, evidence-based approach that helps you process trauma and distressing memories. We use EMDR to gently support your brain in making sense of what’s happened, so it no longer feels so stuck or overwhelming.

Assessment Services
We offer thorough, respectful assessments for autism, ADHD, cognitive and learning differences - using gold standard tools and a neuro affirming approach. Whether you’re seeking clarity, diagnosis, or next steps, we’ll walk you through the process with care.

Relationship Therapy
Support for the emotional space between you and the people who matter. We help couples, siblings, friends, and families strengthen connection, repair ruptures, and navigate conflict with care and clarity.

NDIS Support
Psychology sessions for NDIS participants, including therapy, assessments, and collaborative reports. We can also support you with documentation for NDIS applications and help ensure your plan works for your needs.

Play Therapy
Creative, developmentally appropriate therapy for younger children, delivered by a registered play therapist. We use evidence-based techniques to help kids express emotions, build resilience, and feel safe in their world.
How we can support you
We offer relational, trauma-aware, holistic therapy for adults, teens and children — with a strong focus on safety, collaboration, and care that genuinely fits. Our team tailors each session to the individual sitting across from us (or on the screen), drawing from a range of flexible, evidence-based approaches.
We welcome people with all kinds of lived experience — including neurodivergent folk, LGBTQIA+ clients, and those who’ve felt let down or misunderstood in other systems. You don’t need a diagnosis or referral to reach out. If something doesn’t feel right, that’s enough.
You also don’t need a Mental Health Care Plan, Medicare, or private health insurance to book with us. Rebates are available for most sessions, and we offer assessments and payment plans.
We support clients with:
- Depression
- Anxiety, phobias and panic disorders
- Trauma, PTSD & dissociation
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Functional neurological disorders (FND)
- Grief, loss & life transitions
- Identity, self-understanding & self-worth
- Late-diagnosed ADHD & autism
- Relationship patterns, boundaries & burnout
- Sleep issues & stress management
- Parenting, attachment & child behavioural concerns
- NDIS referrals & collaborative care with allied health
- Play therapy for younger children

Our holistic approach to therapy that’s human & evidence-based
We’re a neuro-affirming, attachment-based practice that offers evidence-based mental health care with a deeply human touch. Our team is made up of clinicians who genuinely care, many of us bring our own lived experience into the work. That means we don’t just talk the talk. We get it.
Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, we take a holistic view — looking at the whole person. How your nervous system is responding. How your past still shows up. How identity, safety, sensory experience and connection all shape how you move through the world.
Our work is integrative, collaborative and always person-led. That means we shape therapy with you — so it works for your brain, your life, and your goals.
We draw from a range of evidence-based modalities, including:
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing)
- Schema Therapy
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Play therapy by a registered play therapist
- Emotion-focused & attachment-based approaches
We also offer formal assessments for autism, ADHD, cognitive profiles, and more. Using gold-standard tools and a neuro-affirming lens.
Whether you’re working through trauma, burnout, identity questions or something harder to name, we offer therapy that’s warm, flexible, and genuinely tailored to you.
Coolangatta Psychology is a proudly neuro affirming, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, and anti-pathologising service. Everyone is welcome here — no masking, no pretending, no need to explain yourself from scratch.
You don’t have to do this alone.
When you’re ready, we’re here to listen and help you find the support that fits.

Hello, I’m Adi
Therapy, to me, is about connection. It’s about sitting with another human in a way that feels safe, real, and deeply respectful, not clinical or forced. I don’t believe in quick fixes or cookie-cutter approaches. I believe in working together, at your pace, to make sense of things that may have never made sense before.
I started Coolangatta Psychology with a clear vision: to build a space that felt different — human, warm, and deeply values-led. A place where both clients and clinicians could show up as themselves. Over time, that vision has grown into a team of like-minded therapists, each bringing their own strengths, lived experiences, and approaches to the work.
I’ve worked across hospitals, clinics, forensic settings, and private practice but the most important lens I bring is a personal one. As somebody with ADHD myself, I understand what it’s like to move through a world that doesn’t always make room for you. I also know how powerful it can be to sit across from someone who gets it.
Our practice offers trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, formal assessments, and a collaborative, holistic, and neuro-affirming approach to care. We’re proud to support clients of all ages and identities, and we genuinely care about finding the right fit for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Feeling unsure? That’s completely normal.
Here are answers to some common questions — and if you’ve got something else on your mind, we’re just a message away.
What if I don’t click with my therapist?
That’s totally fair, the relationship is everything. We take extra care when matching you with someone from our team. We’re a group of humans with different styles and strengths, and we’ll do our best to connect you with someone who feels like a good fit. If things ever feel off, we’re always open to talking about it and helping you find a better match.
Do you offer telehealth services?
Yes, we work with clients from all over Australia via telehealth. It’s a great option if you’re juggling work, parenting, school runs or just prefer the comfort of home. If something unexpected comes up and you can’t make it in person, we’re also happy to switch your session to online at short notice.
Is therapy worth the cost?
It’s a big commitment, emotionally and financially. We keep our fees well below the recommended APS rate, and all of our therapists offer Medicare rebates. We also offer payment plans for assessments. But most importantly, we make sure therapy feels useful, grounded, and actually helpful. You’ll never be just ticking boxes.
I work full time and can’t make appointments during the day
We offer early and late sessions, including mornings from 7:30am and evenings up to 7:30pm. Telehealth is also available and makes it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule. If something comes up last minute, we can easily shift your session online so you don’t have to miss out.
I don’t know where to start or what I’d talk about
That’s more common than you’d think. You don’t need to show up with a list or a plan. We’ll figure it out together. Some people come in with a lot to unpack, others just have a sense that something’s not quite right. Either way, therapy can be a space to make sense of things, not just “fix” problems.
I’ve had a bad experience with therapy before
We hear this a lot. And honestly, it makes sense. Not every therapy space feels safe or supportive. Our work is relational, flexible, and neuro-affirming. We won’t treat you like a label or a checklist. If you’ve been let down in the past, we’ll go gently and make sure this feels different.
I don’t want to be pathologised or feel like I’m broken
You’re not. Especially for neurodivergent clients, this worry comes up a lot, and we get it. We work from a strengths-based, human-first approach. That means we’re more interested in understanding how your brain works than trying to make you fit someone else’s mould.
Not sure what you need?
Let’s figure it out together.
We’ll walk you through your options and help you take the next step that feels right.
